Sue Cooke is a Brisbane-based health professional with a background in nursing, nurse education, health promoting schools, and Government policy roles. She has post-graduate qualifications in public health, education, environmental and climate change. Since 2010 she has been involved in an environmental health course on climate change and public health, offered by the School of Medicine, Griffith University Gold Coast. Sue has written about climate change impacts on children’s health, and community involvement in the transformative change processes we need, to switch humanity’s path towards healthy, just and sustainable futures. She is an active volunteer with several climate action organizations including the Climate and Health Alliance.

Bhakti Vasant is a Brisbane-based Public Health Physician. She feels privileged to work in a profession that helps improve health equity, reduces health risks and responds to the underlying determinants of health. Her interests include climate change and health, Indigenous health, and health promotion and disease prevention. As a member of Climate and Health Alliance and Doctors for the Environment, her aim is to raise awareness of the health impacts of climate change. Human health depends on planetary health.
